Anton McKay"Artist" and "Musician" Anton McKay lives with his cat in Perth, Western Australia, on the periphery of one of that city's grandest light-industrial suburbs. From this base, He makes manifest the unusual contents of his unconscious mind via music and illustration, with a glacial-like vigour. He hopes to make fine comix, but feels he has a ways to go as yet. Bobby.NJust an average guy who had a 'hit' of comics in his youth and simply cannot kick the habit. Not only is he a user, but he manufactures and sells the narcotic too. www.bobbyn.comSkye OgdenSkye Ogden graduated from the Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia in 2004. He began working as a Graphic Designer for various studios and maintains a steady stream of illustration work to satisfy his creativity. Also an illustrator, Andrew is usually content with random personal scribbles and scrawls, finding the scratchy ink drawings immensely therapeutic... In an ideal world Andrew would earn a living writing and illustrating picture books. He also thinks comics should be released with accompanying soundtracks. Justin RandallJustin Randall is a Digital Illustration lecturer for Curtin University, Western Australia and an internationally published graphic novelist and commercial artist. He has worked on franchises such as 30 Days of Night and Silent Hill, produced artwork for albums, book covers, magazines and currently writes and illustrates his own graphic novel series titled Changing Ways. www.justinrandall.com | www.changingwaysbook.com | www.nolongerknowyourself.com Shaun TanShaun Tan was born in 1974 and grew up in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. In school he became known as the "good drawer" which partly compensated for always being the shortest kid in every class. He graduated from the University of WA in 1995 with joint honours in Fine Arts and English Literature, and currently works full time as a freelance artist and author, concentrating mostly on writing and illustrating picture books. Shaun began drawing and painting images for science fiction and horror stories in small-press magazines as a teenager, and has since then he has received numerous awards for his picture books, including the CBCA (Children's Book Council of Australia) Picture Book of the Year Award for 'The Rabbits' with John Marsden. In 2001 Shaun was named Best Artist at the World Fantasy Awards in Montreal. Later moving to the generic southern suburbs of Perth, Mark continued to draw inspiration from the everyday. Mark's philosophy is to inspire by bringing beauty to the mundane and highlighting the magic of the mediocre. Tom TaylorOnce a professional juggler and fire eater, Tom Taylor is now a multi-award-winning playwright whose comedy, drama and musical works have been produced across four continents (it’s hard to get a gig in Antarctica). However, theatre, like crime, doesn’t pay. Fortunately, Tom has found his way into writing TV, film, radio, magazines and, his favourite medium, comics. As well as busily writing 'Brief Cases' (A book that will change lives), Tom is the writer of The Authority, Star Wars: Invasion, a Dark Horse Comics series, which is being illustrated by his good friend, Colin Wilson and Rombies, illustrated by Skye Ogden. Based in Melbourne, Australia, Tom is working on several film, theatre and television projects. www.tomtaylormade.com | www.rombies.com Colin WilsonWilson received his formal training as an artist at Christchurch School of Art in 1967-1968. Working as an illustrator, he started his own fanzine,Strips in 1977. Originally meant as a showcase for Wilson's own comics, Strips soon hosted many New Zealand comics and revived the New Zealand comic scene. In 1980, he moved to London and did work for the renowned comic magazine 2000 AD, working on the properties Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper. In 1997, he moved to Australia, but continued his work for 2000 AD. He's mostly known for his work on La Jeunesse de Blueberry, his solo series Dans L'Ombre du Soleil. His most famous work in the US is Point Blank, written by Ed Brubaker.
